The fifth and final film in the Dirty Harry series was The Dead starring Clint Eastwood and Liam Neeson. Those who have followed the course of the show know that Dirty Harry likes to take the law into their own hands whenever possible. The movie was filmed in 1988 and was one of three films directed by Buddy Van Horn and it shows.
The blacklist is opened and Clint Eastwood is being chased by what he believes to be mobsters sent to kill him for imprisoning his boss. There is no shortage of ammunition at the scene as the three car completely covered Harry, up and down the bullet holes. As usual in these films, Harry escapes unhurt from the car and kill all men with single shots. We expect nothing less however in the fifth installment of the Dirty Harry untouchable.
We walked into the main story where we find Peter Swan (Liam Neeson), who plays a game called Dead Pool. The game is simple, get a list of people who think they're going to die that year, the one with the answers wins. People on the list are finishing killed Pedro and is up to Dirty Harry and his partner Inspector Al Quan (Evan C. Kim) to reach the merits.
An unexpected element to this film was to see Jim Carrey earlier played rock star Johnny Squares. Johnny, unfortunately the first name off the list of dead pool Peter Swan, but not before showing off his lip sync skills Welcome To The Jungle. Unfortunately for the movie this was one of the highlights.
The film follows the same format as all Dirty Harry films, through a series of armed confrontations with Harry failure is the culprit and it takes place. Although the movie is age still a terrible twente way out of a great character. Being the fifth sequel I think they were resting a little too dirty in the name of Harry. Unless your goal is to see every movie of Clint Eastwood and Jim Carrey, stay away from it.
