Pacquiao seeks to settle near Marquez vs score

Manny Pacquiao is a personal act as if, then claims that it is not. Just another night in the ring, another notch on his belt and another $ 25 million or more to get back to the Philippines with him.

It is so easy for Juan Manuel Marquez. He is convinced he won his two previous two fights with Pacquiao, and enter the ring on Saturday night so eager for redemption as it is to claim the biggest prize of his long boxing career.

"I hope the judges score what they see, not the other two fights, when they were not impartial," said Marquez.

Judges may not be necessary at this time. Marquez has swollen to fight at 144 pounds that can bring more energy into the ring and Pacquiao - Marquez who knocked down four times in his two fights - a much more powerful puncher than the last time they met for three years.

Add in the fact these two fighters throw punches non-stop, and there is no possibility of an early end.

"I'm thinking of the second round," Pacquiao said. "If the knockout comes, that's just the bonus for their sacrifices in training."

Pacquiao returns to the ring for the first time since he beat Shane Mosley in May, fighting against a familiar foe in a fight that will earn him a new big payday. He and Marquez have gone 24 rounds with each other, so close rounds the judges ringside had trouble finding the fighting cattle.

However, the first fight was seven years ago at 125 pounds. The second four years later was at 130 pounds.

This will be a piece of the welterweight title, but will be at a catchweight of 144 pounds. Pacquiao's weight has proven to be more comfortable in recent years, but Marquez was not successful the only time that exceeded 140 pounds in a unanimous loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

That's a big reason Pacquiao is 7-1 favorite in a fight pay-per-view that does not enter the lack of action.

"At 144 pounds it will be different," said Pacquiao. "I've improved my boxing and my power. Everything will be different."

Pacquiao - who last lost in 2005 at 130 pounds - you risk a run of 14 wins against Marquez, a Mexican who has held titles in three weight categories. Once again we will bear the brunt of the Philippines in the ring, and once again will be fighting someone other than Mayweather.

That's not Pacquiao's fault, however, as Mayweather does not seem serious about fighting it. So you have to settle for other contenders, and Marquez has better credentials than any of the opponents of Pacquiao since made a name for himself by sending Oscar De La Hoya into retirement in 2008.

In his first two fights, Marquez used his skills to good counter balance to Pacquiao. Although down - three times in the first round of the first fight - Marquez was more competitive in two fights that could have gone either way.

That first fight was a draw and scored the second split decision to Pacquiao still eats Marquez, who wore a shirt proclaiming that was stolen in both fights, when the two boxers were in the Philippines to promote the fight.

That struck a chord with Pacquiao, although he said this week that there is nothing personal between them.

"He went to the Philippines wears a shirt saying" I beat Manny Pacquiao twice, '"said Pacquiao." I'm not angry. That is their freedom to do that. "

But trainer Freddie Roach said there was an added urgency to the Pacquiao training camp for this fight. The jokes and antics of the above fields were gone, with a background in the determination of Pacquiao calm. Roach says Pacquiao wants to solve the problem once and for all.

"I think it was a slap in the face Manny," Roach said. "They were both great fights, fence, but there was no theft there."

Pacquiao said he has learned since his last fight with Marquez to fight a backlash. He has also greatly improved with his right hand, which in the lighter weights that never seemed to be able to land with great power. And he says he has taken the lessons learned in his first two fights with Marquez in the heart.

"The last two fights have helped me," Pacquiao said. "I learned a lot, especially fighting a contributor to CounterPunch, a boxer. I am more experienced now and I'm a better fighter, too."

Marquez went to a new strength and conditioning to add weight and power of their movement from 135 pounds, however, has not been without controversy. The coach, Angel Heredia, was a government informant during the investigation BALCO. He and Marquez both say that nothing has taken legal supplements to prepare for the fight.

However, some are surprised at the boxing Marquez's new constitution, while others are surprised that he tried to gain as much weight instead of using his speed and ability to fight backlash Pacquiao on this occasion.

"He is bigger, more muscular and more slow," said Roach. "When Manny puts down this time I do not think it will be able to get in the way that Manny Pacquiao punches."
